"Where do I start?", "What form of business should I choose?", "What if I already have a job but want something of my own?

On June 22, the educational event “Business in Denmark: Company Types, Tax System, Tax Card and Annual Reporting Analysis” took place — yet another proof that Ukrainians in Denmark don’t wait around, they take action.

Dozens of proactive and determined Ukrainians came to 3F in Kolding — with questions and in search of answers and confidence to take the first step.

The event was organized by The European-Ukrainian Hub in cooperation with 3F Kolding and Bevar Ukraine — with a focus on the most important thing: practical knowledge that can be applied right away.

This is not the first event within the project of practical support for Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Denmark — and once again, it filled the room. Among the participants were both experienced business owners and those just starting out.

A Lecture that Inspires

The core part of the event was a hands-on lecture by Oksana Medetska — an entrepreneur, owner of a consulting company in Denmark, and a tax expert for small and medium-sized businesses with over 10 years of experience. Her talk was more than just a lecture — it was an honest conversation: about how to choose between PMV, EMV, and ApS, what B-skat and A-skat are, when to register for MOMS, and how not to burn out on reporting.

Participants listened closely, took notes, and started asking questions from the very first minutes. There was no room for “formalities” — only lively dialogue and practical advice.

A topic that sparked particular interest was how to combine different types of work — for example, when someone is employed under a contract and also runs a business.

After Ms. Medetska’s talk, many attendees stayed for one-on-one consultations, where they received personalized, professional guidance.

Topics That Matter

The next speaker was Viktor Sydorchuk from Bevar Ukraine, who explained how to declare income, file an annual report, make use of deductions, and recognize fraud in phishing emails.
His key message: don’t be afraid of the system — learn how to use it to your advantage.

The event concluded with Anthony Sylvester from 3F København. He spoke about Danish work culture — trust, self-management, and the balance between work and personal life.
His talk was not only informative but also inspiring — emphasizing that the adaptation of Ukrainians to new realities is not a weakness, but a strength.

An Atmosphere That Heals

Some came with notebooks, others with children. Some just listened quietly, while others headed straight to one-on-one consultations after the presentations.
Over 25 individual meetings in a single day — that’s what makes these events truly unique.

In the room, there was a clear sense that this wasn’t just about “teaching” — it was about being heard. And about getting real support to move forward.

The event ended in a warm atmosphere over dinner and a cup of coffee, thanks to the hospitality of 3F — with conversations about business, collaboration opportunities, life challenges, and the adaptation of Ukrainians in Denmark.

Feedback That Speaks for Itself

“It was clear, practical, and straight to the point. Now I know exactly where to start.”
“Thank you for this opportunity — I got answers I couldn’t find on my own.”
“Charismatic speakers and consultants who gave in-depth answers to questions. A very positive experience.”
“It was very informative and easy to understand. I liked that I could ask questions right away if something interested me. Now I feel more confident to pursue my own venture.”
“Interesting, insightful, and rich in content. The speakers stayed on topic and addressed every question. The event was very well organized.”
“I want more! Please organize more of these sessions!”

According to the feedback forms, 90.9% of participants confirmed they gained new knowledge or expanded their network — and, just as importantly, left with a boost of motivation.

Next Stop — Aarhus

This isn’t the first and certainly not the last event of its kind. Copenhagen, Odense, Aalborg — and now Kolding. Next up is Aarhus, and with it, new stories.

At The European-Ukrainian Hub, we’re not just organizing events — we’re creating a space where Ukrainians in Denmark turn challenges into opportunities, and dreams into concrete steps forward.
