On November 22, 2024, a meeting was held at The European-Ukrainian Hub with the Head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim, organized by the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark (AUD), with the participation of representatives from Danish community organizations actively supporting Ukraine.
This was the first visit of the Governor to Denmark, during which key issues of cooperation between the countries were discussed, including the reconstruction of the Mykolaiv region, attracting investments, and humanitarian aid to the region. Denmark has officially taken patronage over the Mykolaiv region, supporting its recovery and development.
As a result of this cooperation, large-scale projects are already being implemented in infrastructure, housing, and economy.
Vitaliy Kim spoke about the challenges faced by the region, which is just 50 km from the front line, and the initiatives already implemented in collaboration with international partners. Special attention was given to humanitarian needs, support for paramedics and the military, and a project for the prosthetics of Ukrainian defenders, implemented in partnership with Denmark.
Representatives of community organizations in Denmark discussed ways to improve humanitarian cooperation and the prospects of involving Danish businesses in the region’s reconstruction. At the end of the meeting, the head of AUD, Lesya Ignatyk-Eriksen, invited Vitaliy Kim to participate in Folkemødet 2025 – Denmark's largest political festival, where he could present the Mykolaiv region to the international community.
The European-Ukrainian Hub continues to serve as a platform for open dialogue between Ukraine and Denmark, promoting cooperation in economic, humanitarian, and social spheres.
