On October 31, 2024, an important meeting was held at The European-Ukrainian Hub with Oleh Pylypenko, Head of the Shevchenkove community in Mykolaiv region, organized by the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark and the NGO "Hjælp Ukrainske Børn". This event provided a wonderful opportunity for the Ukrainian community in Denmark to learn more about the restoration of territories liberated from Russian occupation in the Mykolaiv region and hear personal stories from those who directly experienced these events.
Oleh Pylypenko shared his experience of how he stayed in the area during the occupation, helping residents, surviving over three months in captivity, and the difficulties faced when rebuilding the community. A key aspect of the meeting was discussing how local communities cope with the consequences of war and restore normal life after liberation.

The meeting took place with the support of The European-Ukrainian Hub, which has become a place for open dialogue between the community representatives and Ukrainians in Denmark. The Hub continues to be an important platform for such events, promoting the unity of Ukrainians through common themes that are vital to our community.
The European-Ukrainian Hub actively supports events that foster mutual understanding, exchange of experience, and ideas for the recovery and development of the Ukrainian community both in Ukraine and abroad.
